Build a Signup Form that Converts

According to Klaviyo - our email platform of choice - the average website popup converts 3.2% of website visitors.

However, the top 10% of popups will convert double users at 7.8% conversion!

Here are some best practice tips to help get your pop ups converting!

1. Emphasize the value you’re offering: think of the information you’re asking for as a form of currency, what can you offer them in return for this. I.e 10% off or a free download.

2. Don’t be afraid to ask for more information: Data shows you can have up to five fields on your signup forms before affecting your conversion.

3. Highlight Social Proof: If your product or brand gets rave reviews, be sure to let people know.

4. Explain they can opt out at any time: This will put people at much more ease when signing up.

5. Set clear expectations for your customer: Convince people to sign up with you by telling them exactly what they’ll get i.e. content, deals, VIP offerings etc. Also consider telling them how often they’ll receive emails.

6. Don’t let the experience end at the submit button: Send them to a thank you page that explains the next steps, or send an email confirming that their sign up was successfully submitted. The fresher the customer, the more likely they are to engage, so make the most of this touchpoint.

7. Commit to ongoing testing: A/B testing is one of the best ways to improve conversion rates on your site, and testing signup forms can lead to some quick conversion rate wins. Some things to test are - Signup form length, Phone numbers, intro copy, CTA wording, CTA colour, Where the form shows up
